Hey guys,

Today is International self-care day so I thought there'd be no better time for me to release my first blog (bookish diary entry) of the year. This is probably a good time to mention that I've never kept a diary before but, in the spirit of the day, I thought that now would be a perfect time to start!

I want to crush 2024 in a big way and (in my opinion) the best way for me to do that is to focus on making myself the best version of me possible. So, I'm going to invest HEAVILY in self-care this year. Whether that's taking the time to do my hair nicely each day or something bigger, like buying myself one of those walking pads I keep seeing advertised on my TikTok fyp.

I guess I've just come to the realisation, over the past couple of years, that the only person 100% responsible for my happiness is me. Right now, I'm not certain that I've been giving that job my all.

2023 was, truly, a transformative year for me and all of the successes I've seen have stemmed from me actively investing my time and effort into things that I love, and care about, and bring me joy.

So, I'm going to up the ante for 2024. Take even better care of myself. Say 'no' to things that I don't want to do more often. Focus on doing things that bring me joy (like reading and creating bookish content for my followers on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube).

So far, I've committed myself to the following things:

→ Improving the quality of my TikTok content (that'll encourage a few more people to follow me on there.

→ Trying to post on Instagram every day.

→ Trying to upload( at least) one video to YouTube each week.

→ Launching a Facebook group to keep in better contact with my followers.

→ Run a monthly book club (via 'The Clogg Squad' Facebook group.

Honestly, that's quite a lot of stuff to be doing (alongside regular day-to-day self-care) but I think I can handle it.

I'm sure, to most people, taking on more work and commitments doesn't seem like 'self-care' but I've

realised that these are the kinds of things that I like doing and 2024 should be (for all of us) a year full of joy.

Let me know what you're doing to take care of yourself today (on international self-care day) and for this new year. I'm sure that your ideas are going to look very different to mine!

Also, don't be afraid to suggest some new things for me to my (that you think could bring me joy in 2024). I only got started on bookstagram and booktube because followers recommended that I give them a try and they're made me so happy.

I hope that you've had a lovely day today and that you're taking good care of yourself. Let's all work on making this year a good one for ourselves (and for others), eh?!

xoxo Christiecloggs xoxo
