A reading nook in the office may have been a mistake...

Hey guys,

I thought I should let you all know that my new mini-mini library is all set up now!

Calling it a mini-mini library has already started to wear thin so I'm just going to call it my 'reading nook going forward.

Honestly, I think it looks amazing and makes my entire office look neater, prettier, and more inherently 'me'.

There is however one glaring issue with it being so close to my work space - I keep on glancing at it longingly!

I'll take a break from having my eyes glued to the computer screen, for a second, and find myself tempted to curl up in the nook and pick up a book.

Really, I think that's a total 'slay' and indicative of how warm and inviting I've made the nook look. However, this is not a 'slay' for helping me stay focussed on my work.

I'll be typing away and hear it's siren song calling to me - 'Christie, turn off that nasty computer and come here and curl up with me.'

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that I went out, bought the shelves, built the units, and created the nook (it's a vast improvement on the haphazardly placed shoe racks, that kept on buckling under the weight of my books, that I had scattered around here). I'm just struggling to keep my mind 100% on work when I know I need to.

The only improvement I think could be made to the nook is re: seating. Atm I've got a plush rug and cushion put down but a beanbag might be nice.

Sidenote: Have you seen how expensive beanbags are?! Practically daylight robbery out there!!!

I'd quite like to hear what you guys think of my new reading nook - I'm going to start doing TikTok lives in it (so hope people like the look of it)!
